OCVL Ladder System
The OCVL has a set calendar for its regularseason, playoffs, and days of the week.
    - Men's division: Monday.

    - Women's division: Tuesday.

The gym locations and times played vary each week depending on your win/loss result.
The ladder is updated automatically once teams have submitted their wins and losses.
All games will be best of 5 sets (sets to 25, 5th set to 15), except if there is a tier of 3 (see below).
Each tier will consist of 4 teams with the top 2 teams playing each other and the bottom 2 teams playing each other.
The "ladder system" is used for regular season games within a 2-week cycle. After week 1, teams will move up, down or stay, within the tier,
based on their win/loss. On week 2, teams will move up or down within the tier or to a different tier depending on their win/loss results.
Week 1 – Games are played 1 vs 2 and 3 vs 4. Placements for the following week are:
    -

Winner of the 1 vs 2 game goes up a tier to Team 4 in the tier above*

    -
Loser of the 1 vs 2 game will become Team 3 in the current tier

    -
Winner of the 3 vs 4 game will become Team 2 in the current tier

    -
Loser of the 3 vs 4 game will become Team 1 in the tier below*

    * The top and bottom team in the league remain in their current position.
Occasionally, we are required to introduce 3 and 6 team tiers, depending on the number of teams registered and gym availability. The rules for those tiers are as follows.

Schedule Fairness
The 3-Team tier weekly schedule will automatically modify the match order so that no team will play the split two weeks in a row.
